Spicy Fingers: Inexpensive lunch at Greenbelt
While working in Makati, one of the challenges I faced aside from looking for parking is looking for an inexpensive meal that’s not in a fast-food place, food court, or one of those Jollijeeps. It’s tough especially if you’re near Greenbelt.
I recently discovered Spicy Fingers’ inexpensive Value Express Lunch menu and gave it a try. They have a variety of meals that costs only P120 each, well P131 once tax kicks in. Not only that, each dish comes with a glass of iced tea too.
Here’s the Spicy Fingers Value Express Lunch Menu:
Along with my lunch buddies, we sampled some of their dishes.
Burger Steak (there’s supposed to be an egg there but i had it removed)
First time I went there alone, I ordered the Burger Steak. I was disappointed with the size of the patty, but at least it doesn’t taste like processed meat. Although, it doesn’t taste like one of those premium beef patty either. The mushroom gravy tastes good but the vegetables were hard.
Seafood w/ Cilantro and Light Coconut Curry
According to Bryan, the taste was good but the serving on the seafood was a letdown but is to be expected considering the price and the place.
Hickory Style Pork Belly
Safe choice but there’s plenty of fat and less pork. The sauce was a bit watery too. Vegetables were hard too.
Korean Beef BBQ
I thought the serving was decent but they placed in a bed of shredded vegetables to make it look plenty. Taste was ok but nothing really special.
Looking at what other people ordered, I think their Tuna Salpicao is the best deal.
Overall, I really can’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a satisfying meal that will make your palate happy. It can be one of those places you can go to if you’re stuck at Greenbelt looking for an inexpensive place to eat but tired of McDonald’s and the like.
