Ready for our long vacation with the Mendoza Seahawk

It’s been a while since I last traveled with Tia but our next travel date is drawing near. And it’s going to be exciting since it will also be the first time we’ll take Callie out of town, out of the country even.

Next destination: California, USA. It has been 2 years in the making and it’s finally here. To help us with our trip is our new 29” Mendoza Seahawk hard shell luggage. It’s our biggest luggage so far and should fit lots of goodies that we’ll be bringing back home.

If you haven’t heard of the Mendoza brand before, it’s not a local brand. It’s actually a Hong Kong brand that’s been around since the 70’s. The reason why it’s relatively unknown to some is because Hong Kong peeps like their Tumi’s and Delsey’s and other top-end luggage brands. This brand is more popular in Japan though.

Mendoza can be classified as a mid-range brand of luggages. Good quality with a reasonably affordable price. It’s in the same range as that of the Echolac and the entry level Samsonite’s and Delsey’s.

The Mendoza Seahawk is made of lightweight PC/ABS material that has improved resistance to stress cracks even in low or high temperatures. It’s not as lightweight as soft shell luggages but for a hard shell one, it’s quite light already.

It has some funky designs and the one we have is camouflaged which looks like we’re joining the army. Hehe. Well at least we can easily spot it from the conveyor belt at the airport.

The multi-stage extendable aluminum handle feels solid and tough, and not flimsy or plasticky like other trolley luggages.

There’s a built-in TSA approved combination lock here which is required when traveling to the United States.

The inside is pretty basic but really spacious. There are zipped dividers and a hook belt to keep your things in place. It also comes with an accessory pouch inside probably for meds or toiletries, or chargers.

Lastly, there’s the four wheels that rotates 360-degrees for smooth maneuverability. You can easily drag this luggage from behind or alongside you while walking.

The Mendoza Seahawk Luggage Trolley Suit Case 29″ is available at Travel Club and SM Department stores for Php12,490. It’s being distributed by Primer Group.

California here we come! Thank you Mendoza for providing for our luggage.
