Going to Quezon for the Pahiyas Festival

Today we are off to Lucban, Quezon to check out the Pahiyas Festival. It’s going to be our first to attend this event and we’re so excited despite having to wake up real early.

The San Isidro Pahiyas Festival is a grand fiesta where each household outdo each other by elaborately decorating their houses with colorful “Kiping” and agricultural harvest. This is what “Pahiyas” or “Payas” means. There’s also a parade where people are dressed in colorful costumes. Carabaos too.

My sisters went there last year by commuting but we’re going there with other members of the media courtesy of Samsung. As part of this trip, we’re to try out their different cameras and handycams to capture moments of this festival.

Hoping to score some Lucban longganisa which is a popular delicacy there.

Try their Pancit Lucban too. Sarap! :)

At the other end of Quezon is Gumaca’s Aranya’t Baluarte celebrated every 15th of May din. Hope you could visit it too, probably next year? :) It’s another event to honor San Isidro Labrador. (I’m a Gumaquena myself hehe!)

Enjoy your trip! Post some pics ah? :)
